Soooo....I just got a Blackberry cellphone. The license to be put on the RIM server is 75 USD, which I would rather not spend. So, I'm using the desktop redirector software to send my emails to the phone. But sitting at my desk, I'd rather not have that, since I have my email up in front of me already. So even if you have no idea what any of that stuff is, here's what I'm looking to do:
Create a daemon of some type to monitor the Windows usage for idle times. If the pc has been idle for n amount of minutes, flip on the desktop redirector program. Once, there's input or movement, turn it off.
Now, I'm no Windows guy, so I don't know, maybe there's already something built into Windows and my feeble Unix mind is telling me I have to write a daemon. Or maybe someone's already got something like this done that I could tweak to do what I want. I didn't think it would be hard to do, considering you see it all the time in screensavers, IM clients and the like, but google must not have liked the way I worded my queries.
Anyway, if you guys and gals have any sort of suggestions, hints, comments, or just want to tell me to f*ck off, let me know. 🙂
