Shopping Cart?

I'm not a developer, and I'm trying to set-up a shopping cart using OsCommerce

.  I don't know where to begin, can anyone help?

Trash it and install CubeCart http://www.cubecart.com

Trust me on this one, I develop small business ecommerce web sites all the time. It is the easiest to modify and administer free software, in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice, you're right Cube Cart is easier to use.
Any advice on how to update the Welcome area? Also, I'm going to purchase the key so I can add my co logo - any advice on how to add some "flava" to the site, change colors, add moving images?

The cubecart support forums have hacks and mods and tutorials to help you out in modding the store.

As for changing the Welcome Note, login to the admin panel, click the + next to settings. Click general. About half way down you should see it.

CubeCart recently posted that they were hacked and the member files were destroyed, I don't know how quickly they can resolve this. How safe is this site? Any other suggestions?

The forum web site was hacked. Brooky probably just accidently gave his password out to the wrong pretty girl who thought that she was a web designer and doesn't want to admit it publicly.

You might want to aquaint yourself with things like SourceForge http://sourceforge.net/ and JavaBoutique http://javaboutique.internet.com/ as well. These are places to tap into the Open Source movement like this forum we are in now.

I'm trying to complete a transaction, I get to the order summary-pull credit card in the drop-down menu, click checkout and error message occurs.

I'm reading the manual on the Authorize.net site, how do I link the site to the payment form -where is this created and entered in CubeCart?

Any set-by-step guides?

You need to log into the administration portion and go to settings. Then click Gateways, then edit your Authorize.net information to you account. Set it as default or active and your good to go.

After you get setup things are faily easy to do. After I got comfortable with the store everything was okay. I even develop mods for the software. http://www.spechal.com/cube/

Just too see a few in action. There are too many to list comng in the next few days, and alot of them you wont ever see.

I actually just wrote a Pay-Pal IPN mod for it today.

My Authorize.Net settings are enabled, but I still get the error message. When I click checkout, the next page should direct me to a form to fill out the credit card info -this page does not exist.

Reading the Authorize.Net manual, it states I need to create this form -where would I insert this data in the Cube Cart?

Welp...I was going to do this eventually...so....give me a few hours to a day and I will check into it and setup an IPN for it.
