order by date

Hello all,

 I have query and the results is Order by Datefield DESC.

But the results are not ordered by date.

The datefield column format is 2000-12-01(YYYY-MM-DD) as php.net documentation states it should be.

But when I do a:

SELECT keywords.*, Product.*, releaseDate.* FROM keywords, Product, releaseDate WHERE keywords.keyword='$phrase' AND keywords.sku = Produit.SKU  AND Product.Is_Active=1 AND Product.SKU  = releaseDate.skuNum ORDER BY releaseDate.availDate DESC LIMIT $limitvalue, $limit

But the results are not in the proper order.

Table strucuture of release Date table is:

Field Type Null Default

skuNum int(5) No 0

availDate date No 0000-00-00

Anyone know what I did wrong?

It could be a number of reasons though i think if the tables are in some way related to have some sort of JOIN in there

well I linked the sku field in the SkuNum field in the releaseDates table.

But it didn't help.

Anyone got any ideas?
