PHP and XSL

I'm using PHP and XSL. In the xsl file I imported other xsl files. But when I ran the page I got "XSL element 'stylesheet' can only contain XSL elements " message. Does anyone know what this is and how to solve the problem. The files are on UNIX server. It works fine on Window.
