Newbie question...

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to make a script that writes a table in HTML. I tried to set a bgcolor for a cell to #FFFFFF . I know that PHP recognizes the pound sign (#) as the start of a comment.

How do I print the #?

Hmmm,

That doesn't work. I'm assuming that PHP thinks that the # means you want to start your comment. I get a parsing error, because the semicolon is in the comment...

Edit: Here is the code I have...

You might also try using CSS (cascading style sheets) to format your pages and tables. At the least it will avoid this problem, and relieve you from typing all those font tags etc in every html line your php is generating. What CSS is really for though is to seperate presentation from content generation, and to provide a consistent design across the whole of your site.
