a query question

I have a table Aa that has two columns 'id' and 'login_time'. I want to go through all login time ordered by each 'id'. I tried:
select * from Aa group by 'id', but it only returns the first row of each 'id'. What I want is to print out all login_time of one id and then next id's. Could some one tell me an efficient way of doing this?

Hi,

you can do something like

SELECT * FROM Aa ORDER by id,login_time

and do the rest in PHP.

Quite right, tsinka.

Scorpioy, I think you missunderstand the GROUP BY clause.

It's purpose is to limit the results to only one instance of each value in the field or fields specified in the Group By clause.

This is a very powerfull tool if you want to find some Aggregate (count, sum, max, etc) of all records with that value; and no use when you want to see details of all those records.

What you wanted was a sorted list so Order By is the operator and clause.
