Hi All!

I have a problem with my file function. I want to get the contents of the page using fsockopen but gives me a warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: gethostbyname failed in C:\CIT-LMS\file.php on line 10 and warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to htpp://art:8086 in C:\CIT-LMS\file.php on line 10. I used file function but still a warning occur but when i used readfile it works but the only thing readfile print the whole page but I want the text of this page get and stored in variables. Is there a need to configure in php.ini? Anybody can help?

What do you mean?

I open an http page (http://art) which is my localhost page that contains a text file and i want to get that text and not the whole page.

Is there a need to configure my php.ini? I used the default php.ini configuration and I set the allow_url_fopen to on but even I used the file() or fsockopen() or fopen() still have a warning even I used the parameter say for example(www.php.net). Is there something wrong with the version of php?
Anybody has an idea?
