Arrays and naming - A question

Hi there,

I have this code:

$cities = array();

$proffesions = array();
$result=mysql_query("SELECT city,proffession,prof_type FROM jobs;");
$j=0;
$k=0;
$l=0;
while ($row=mysql_fetch_array($result)) {
  $flag_city=false;
  for ($i=0;$i<sizeof($cities);$i++)
    if ($cities[$i]==$row['city'])
	  $flag_city=true;
  if (!$flag_city)
    $cities[$j++]=$row['city'];
  $flag_prof=false;
  for ($i=0;$i<sizeof($proffesions);$i++)
    if ($proffesions[$i]==$row['proffession'])
	  $flag_prof=true;
  if (!$flag_prof)
    $proffesions[$k++]=$row['proffession'];
  $flag_proft=false;
}

In the context of this snippet above does it matter what name this has (below)?

$flag_prof

Huh? No, really, I'm at a loss. What do you mean "does it matter"? If you changed $flag_proft to something else, it wouldn't be $flag_proft any more. It wouldn't have the value of $flag_proft that your loop set (which I notice also uses the variable $flag_prof a couple of times - is this supposed to be a different variable, or is it a typo?).

PS: it's spelled "profession".

Sorry Weedpacket,

It's just that I am having an absolute nightmare trying to find out why my add.php form is bringing up a javascript error on the business sub category field of the select boxes that is populated from MySQL and I scraping at straws trying to find out why.

I have spent 2 evenings trying to debug but I am now clueless.
