ftp_rawlist problem

I recently discovered that ftp_rawlist does not work when the directories have spaces in them, using PHP 4.3.8.

I read numerous mailgroups that said this problem was fixed WAY back in the CVS snapshot, however, it seems to still exist.

So, here's my question. Is there a way to achieve the effects of ftp_rawlist, without using ftp_exec?
