Session ID problems

Hello...
I am having a problem with session ID's showing up in my urls. My pages are being served by a Linux machine with version 4.3.8.

I have added a php_flag session.use_trans_sid off and get the following error message:

"Invalid command 'php_flag', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration"

I have verified the spelling to no avail.

What's wrong?

Thanks, no that didn't help. I do not have access to my config file on the server. Anybody have any other ideas?

SID's are good to use when a user's browser is set to deny cookies...

If you disabled cookies on your own browser, the SID's would then append to the URL in your address bar.

Is it safe to use 'cookies' to keep track of a user's activity when using sessions.

This simply means that rather than appending the SID to each and every session enabled page, you will do a check to see if a session is set at the top of every page...
