I have an Image Database that I am just now finishing thanks to this website. I will have more than 300 pictures used on my website, and I was wondering if there was a way in PHP to set this up.

Say I have 3 images for now:


PictureNum   Location
1            xx/yy/1tn
2            xx/yy/2tn
3            xx/yy/3tn

So when I call the database it shows thumbnails that link to the ceritan page, and I dont wnat to make 300 pages for the big image.

How would I go about making it so that when a user clicks the thumbnailX, it would bring up the picture page and display bigpictureX? does this even make sense?

Well you could make your thumbnail links all go to the same page passing in a GET variable that is the ID of the image to display.

Something like this:

// Image display page
if (!isset($_GET["image_id"])
{
   die("Need an image ID");
}
else
{
   $filename = "myImage" . $_GET["image_id"] . ".jpg";
   print "<img src=\"$filename\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" align=\"middle\">";
}
?>

I made two of my links go to one page that I created, and had to add an ")" to fix the code you gave me.. took me a while cuase I am new and all. but all it tells me is I need an image ID

Is this right?

I am not sure how to Pass a variable, but I have done it In Jass, but I am not sure howto in PHP you know?

To send a GET variable you specify it after the URL using ?name=value if you need to pass more than 1 then you'd separate each name=value pair with and &.

So you'd want to change the links your thumbnails are using to be

[url]http://www.hubbelllandscapes.com/picture.php?id=1[/url]

Ofcourse you'd want the 1 to be the id of the image you want to display.
