PhP

Hi,
I am a newbie on PhP. I had programming subjects during college years but had the difficulty understanding it. But now I really would like to learn. I've searched tutorials on the line and did some samples. Some are ok but some have warnings and errors. I also downloaded the manual but when I read it, I was really having difficulty understanding it. Does any one know of a good samples of the content of the manual which are easy to understand? I'm thinking what's the best book I need. I've seen so many suggestions but I really don't know what's best for me. I'm just doing a self-study on PhP and on my probationary period in web development. Thanks for being so patient with me.

i just bought beginning php5 by wrox press and am finding it very easy to understand.

Just a word of encouragement...You can do it, Franches!!! Enjoy the language and what it can do, learn about what it can do and then be prepared to face an exciting and powerful language! That makes the journey all the more worthwhile and exciting. PhpBuilders is a great way to learn...and folks here are generally nice n responsive!
