So how old is the tyke?
my younger son
He turns 8 next month. Oh, and he told me about 6 months ago he's an atheist, so I've been reading up on atheism lately...
Went to visit grandma and grandpa with his older brother, who had to stop him from informing grandma of his new religious leanings. I could just picture the look on her face at that one.
He's quite the kid.
Ah, to be so young again ...

Actually, maybe not.
The "speed of things" has accelerated and it's possible that kids who are now 14 are really like kids 15 years ago when they were 24.
Just a theory...?

I think that in knowledge terms, that is true. However maturity will always stay the same.
Especially considering the way kids are treated nowadays. Being forgiven of serious crimes due to their young age.

I think they are probably more mature in some ways, and in others just the same as we were.
I know a kid who is only 19 and has already had a brilliant design career (most of us slog through projects doing things we aren't necessarily very interested in doing). He's got his own firm, his own employees, a host of great clients and agencies to work with and his own in-house accountant.
However, he's not exactly pleasant to anybody. He's surely missing out on college for one thing (which is a great way to acclimate to the future real world) and also many years of truly screwing things up.
14 going on 24 was probably a stretch, but y'all know what I meant. I think I'm just jealous...
That guy is one of the lucky ones.
Wish i was that lucky, i would struggle getting a job in McDonalds

Which eventually will screw up his business as he finds it harder and harder to keep good help and the bad help drives clients away.

The lack of college will not look good if his firm falls for any reason, he'll have a harder time finding an employer then someone who has the degree.
I'm not a kid when your 13 and your jewish you become a MAN! Too bad I'm not jewish haha
hah.
Well (in the uk anyway) when you reach 18, you are classified as an adult, and if male are seen legally as a MAN.
A lot of 18 year olds are Men but surely don't act like it.
XerO - enjoy the fact that you're a kid and don't be in too big of a hurry to grow up, being a grown up really isn't all that much fun
I wish I were what I was when I wished I were what I am.

I'll break it down for you.
I wish I were what I was when I wished what I am
Let's say WP is 30 now.
Then this statement translates into
I wish I were what I was when I wished I was 30
Now let's say WP was 15 when he made this wish
Then the statement further translates into
I wish I were 15
Understand now?

Ah... I've heard that. But doesn't it go like this?:
I wish I were what I was when I wished I was what I am now.
In any case, close enough! Personally, I have always hated the idea of age. When people find out what your age is, I think that they (subconsciously, anyway) immediately have preconceptions about you regardless of who you are and what you say/do...
I'm 16, and I gave software to and taught an ICT teacher at school to make websites, and two years on, he has his own web design company (which charges a fair amount) while I'm still a geeky kid at school doing nothing.
Here's the question: In the field of IT, would you hire a teenager or an adult to carry out a task if they were equally good? How about if the teenager was better?
