is PhP compaible with linux and ms

😕 Hi, i'm realy new to php.
I ussualy use asp code to develop my sites, but now i need something to develop a site that can be hosted on either a ms server or a linux server.
Can it be done with php or not realy ?

Unless you use platform specific features/code, yes, PHP code would generally work on both Linux and MS Windows.

Who told you you could run PHP on Linux? What a load of nonsense. Linux and PHP are COMPLETELY incompatible. In fact, PHP only works on Mac.

... just kidding ... I write and test PHP on WinXP (previously did it on Win98) using Apache/PHP/MySQL for Win32. I then ftp the files to my hoster, who uses Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP. All works sweetly, unless I bollix up the code myself, which happens regularly.

You should have no serious problems.
