OK here's the deal...

I've just started working for this company who host their website on a server far far away. I desperatley need php installed, without it I can't really do my job. The system admin and the hosting company is being an 'arse' and is refusing for no good reason to install php. Is there anyway I can do it myself? I have ftp access to their server (I think it's Apache on Unix but I'm not to sure).

Is there anyway way I can install php from here?

Until you're able to get PHP on your remote server, you may want to look into these packages.

MiniServer by SourceForge
EasyPHP

Each of these would allow you to run a proxy server, and create and test PHP files locally on your own machine.
