after instalation, displaying images problem

I am having a problem with installing php with iis5 on win 2000 sp3

i can run phpinfo ok, and most php scripts but when trying to get an img from a php file, e.g a rotate script that randomly produces an img, the image will not be shown.

please help, this is really confusing and bugging me

i've tried using 3 versions of php still same problem

2 things.

1) Post some code so we can see how you are trying to do things. We can't help without seeing some code.

2) Right click on the space where the image should be and open the properties. See if the path there is correct... If not, then I refer you back to point 1, so we can help you with the code.

The code is good, the exact same code and files works on 2 other servers the only differenace i can tell is that they are using different opperating systems 1 is linux with apachee and the other iis 5 on ntserver

is there and issue with php and windows 2000 sp3 ive looked on the knowledge base and no reported issues that i can find.

so basically the code is good, site is an exact copy from the working site, also copied it again and it works on another server, so its not the code

OK, 2 things...

1) Don't bother to post any code... That way we can't help you.
2) Don't right click and get the path for the image... It is obviously right... (hmmm, yet, it doesn't show)

There may or may not be an issue, but without code, how can you possibly expect us to help you. I personally run Win2K SP3, Apache 2, PHP 4 at work, and have no issues...

Humor us so we can help... Take the 2 steps I posted above, and let's move on with the helping...

Right clicking on the image (one of the images that are not working as no image with a .php file being used to create the image is working) shows the path to be rotate.php which is a php file which selects an image randomly from a file the rotate script works fine as 1. the scrip is used for my sig on a forum, 2 the exact same script and files works fine on other servers. i can post the rotate script if you like but that isnt the problem the code is fine. the main problem was introduce to me when running robohelp, which the images (that have the address pie.php etc) dont work there is a problem making the images display when using a php file/script to make them display, no matter what the script is.

sorry if i sound harsh but this is really getting to me, and every forum i have logged it with wants to see the code when it is not a coding problem.

Doesn't that tell you something? Are you writing some sort of super-secret proprietary code that you can't show it?

Win2K, SP3 should have no problems with the script you are displaying.

Sorry if I sound harsh here as well, but I am done on this thread, since i have pretty much given you all the help I can at this point. I will leave you with that, and hopefully, for you, one of the other regs around here will be tolerable enough to give you help. Good luck.

how can it be a code problem when the code works, you can see the code i told you but thats not the only code that doesnt work. ANY CODE which you put inplace of a img e.g a gif, img source test.php etc doesnt work, how can it be code specific if its a global problem on all code, am i not explaining my problem very well, its not specific code, i dont need code help i dont write the code, i maintain the server (before you say it not very well) the difference between my server and yours is you are using apachee and i am using iis, that could make a difference????

of you dont feel like replying that fine, but its not a code problem, it cant be.

Well, not really. Some punctuation would help. It's not necessary to write everything in lower case in one long run-on sentence. (I mean, if you can't make the effort.....)

the example i gave you works on a server. the one i am trying to get it to work on doesnt but its an intranet server so you cant access it. so no still cant get it working 🙁
