osTicket

Has anyone used osTicket (by used I mean successfully installed)? I'm trying to get the automail.pl to work.

I'm using CPanel and have set up a forward so that email to support@mydomain goes to: "|/home/piersk/public_html/cgi-bin/automail.pl" (which is the location of automail.pl) but I keep getting the following email:

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es)
failed:

pipe to |/home/piersk/public_html/cgi-bin/automail.pl
generated by [e-mail]

I'm completely confused here. Anyone?

I have not used OSTicket; I also note that this issue is several days old, so it's probably resolved by now...but:

Didja check the server logs? There are some security issues involved in sending mail to a pipe, and it could be that either the server doesn't have permission to do so, or the permissions on the file or pipe are such that the server simply won't write to it --- I'd think it would be rather server specific ... maybe you could learn something there.

Nah, not resolved. However, didn't think of checking the server logs... Not sure if I can check the mail logs. Only one way to find out. Ta Dale
