Today I embark on an elusive journey to the north for a family reunion... I'll be gone for a whole week! Whatever will you do without me?! ;D

So, what's something good about Ohio? I know there are a few PHP Builders that are from there, but unfortunately, I'm not going through their territory (:bemused🙂... wonder if I can even check the board from there...

How can you go "north into Ohio" and not go through Cincinnati??? You are not trying hard enough.

Last night, Jason, Elizabeth and I had a meetup, and there was a guy there from Cleveland. If he can go out of his way to meet with us, it's the very least you can do.

It's all just as well, anyway. About the time you come up to Ohio, I'll probably be doing my hair.

Buzz, I'd love to go through there (although, it'd be 6am when I'm there), but unfortunately I'm not going to be the one setting the directions. We're going through Columbus from Indianapolis, so we'd be just a little bit north.

Elizabeth, it's in a teeny tiny town called Atwater, which is right north of Canton.

And yeah, Shryku.. this whole state isn't very technical.. although, Springfield is getting there. I'm trying to get a meetup going (doubt anyone from Cleveland will be down here, though! HA! ... ;D), but only like 4 people signed up (which means 2 will be there)... This is why I'd like to move to a slightly more technical city. 🙂

Apparently, Eric Meyer attends the Web Design meetups up in Cleveland, and they get around 8 to 11 people per month to show up.

Well, if you have it towards the end of this month, I'll be there 🙂

Phoenix is huge, and there's a pretty good php user group here, though, I've yet to go to one of their meetings.

&& of course, the real issue (trouble) with me on this is:

*so many people ask for my time: fix this, run this errand, why is this server down, "help I've got a virus", what's the plan for such and so meeting, etc., etc., semper ad libitum, that I sometimes don't get to visit family members or go to the grocery/doc/dentist/wedding of a close friend[sup]1[/sup], yada yada ... dad freak it! I still don't charge for all the phone calls --- it's rung 4 times while I typed this ...

*I sometimes get in the car to go somewhere and it won't start, or if it does, the fuel tank's empty, the radiator's overheating, the A/C's not working, the starter/alternator/foobarbazinator is on the fritz, yada yada ... there goes the tax refund

*I can't actually remember the last time I was in Springfield, or for what reason. I guess maybe I did tech/backup for some musical outfit at the mission downtown this year, and stopped by my wife's sister's place on the way out of town. But to just take an evening, it doesn't often happen. If this happens, it'll take the entire day, not because of you guys or anything, I just will have to clear the schedule ...

So, I gritch and moan, and basically it's "I'd love to, but I don't feel I can ..." 🙁

Heh, you could c'mon over here and we'll take warez off of XP boxen, but that is not what I'd call fun & fellowship. :glare: <--- Take this, M$!!

Seriously dale, I'm headed out to Springfield to visit family. While I'm out there, it'd be cool to get together with some of the builder crew, but if it's not convenient for you, I understand. Trust me, I understand. I haven't been to one of the local php user meetings, not because I don't want to go, but because I haven't been able to.

Atwater? Hmm... There isn't too much to do in the Akron/Canton area. Depends on what you're into doing, but mostlikely if you can suffer the 50 minute trip to Cleveland, you'd have a better chance of finding something to do there.

Yeah, Akron is home of AA.

In Akron, you can spend the night in a silo! (right in downtown too)

The Inventor's Hall of Fame is in Akron. I haven't gone yet. I haven't figured out if its 100% kid only or if older people would have a good time there as well. The Football Hall of Fame is in Canton. So if you're into the "Hall of Fame" stuff, there's a couple of those in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton area.

Other than that, there's not much. May Day was fun in Akron, but the authorities are trying to regain control and I don't think its been as much fun recently.

Well, I'm back now.. lots of fun was had.

While there, though, one of my teeth decided to go awol (well, more so than usual), so I'm all doped up on pain killers.. at least I can type, though. 😃
