Linux and 802.11g

Hi all

I'll warn you now - this isn't a PHP question. As a senior member and tireless answerer of newbie questions, I beg forgiveness and understanding. You guys and gals are just such a bunch of techie wizards, it's the best forum for my question:

Q: Anyone know of a 802.11g PCI card or USB stick which works with Linux (SuSe 9 Pro in my case) or for which a driver can be found.

Background: I'm going to go DSL this week (free at last, free at last) and I'm planning to get a Fritz DSL WLAN router which is going very cheap with the DSL account. The manufacturer claims full SuSe 9 compatibility. This is way cool, however ... they don't have a Linux-compatible adapter for the PC, so you still have to connect to the router with a LAN or USB cable if you want to use Linux. No big deal, I know, but I have a 17m long corridor in my flat and I'd really like to cut down on cables. I may also be moving the PC around the flat in the next while.

Anyone had any experience with this stuff and would be prepared to share their wisdom?

While I'm not a Suse user, I've done 802.11g on Fedora and Gentoo before. I use Linksys with a Broadcom chipset, which is one of the few still not supported yet on linux. There's a lot of drivers out there, but I had to use ndiswrapper, which will make use of the Windows drivers. Didn't have much trouble setting them up.

I've done a trawl of the WLAN-clients (PCI or USB clients) available in Europe and have the following incomplete list. The chipset is unclear in all cases:

Belkin F5D7000de (PCI card with antenna; 11g/b, WEP only)
Linksys WMP54G (PCI card with antenna; 11g/b, WEP/WPA)
SMC 2512W-AG (PCI-PCMCIA-adapter; 11g/b, WEP/WPA)
Draytek Vigor 530 (USB-adapter; 11g/b, WEP/WPA)
Netgear WG311 (PCI card with antenna; 11g/b, WEP only)
Zyxel ZyAIR G300 (PCI card with antenna; 11g/b, WEP/WPA)

Anyone got any experience with these or is aware of the chipset specifications and can point to the appropriate Linux-friendly drivers?

I use the Linksys, and it works great over ndswrapper, but I'm pretty sure the SMC, Netgear, and the Belkin are supported from the kernel. Don't take my word on it though.
