This should be easy...but I am stuck. I am trying to code my first shopping cart...and am having some problems. First, this should be a VERY simple cart....I dont need allot of 'fancy' functionality...all I need to do is the following:
1) The 'products' page needs to be just a simple pull down of available products. This site is selling lobsters....so the lobsters page will have four or five pull downs that represent different sizes of lobster. For example...one pulldown will list the available quantiities of small lobsters. The pulldown lists quantities 2 - 20 of this size. The prices change based on quantity. So, if someone selects 8 of these size lobsters than the price is $137.
This needs to be done for every available size lobster.
I have used and customized OsCommerce sites in the past...and that is a great shopping cart....but I dont think it can deliver this kind of functionality.
I thought of storing the selections in a session.
Something like:
session_register("medium");
The problem that I immediatly ran into is....what if someone decides to go back and select a different quantity of meidum lobster....the session values do not change.
Any ideas on how I should approach this would be very helpful.
