Hiya.
I had an idea today, and just wondered how easy it'd be to accomplish.
Say we have 6 e-mail mailboxes, (using POP3/SMTP), would it be easy to check those through PHP for new mails?
For example, on a page called 'newmail.php' there'd be a list of the 6 accounts. Say these accounts are: mail1 -> mail6, the page would report:
mail1 = No new e-mails.
mail2 = 1 new e-mails.
mail3 = 2 new e-mails.
mail4 = No new e-mails.
mail5 = No new e-mails.
mail6 = Unable to connect.
Something like that?
The "Unable to connect" instead of some generic PHP error, and if a password is wrong, or the mailserver is down, or for whatever reason it cannot check...
I'm using PHP 4.3.2 on Zeus WebServer, and my webhost says our mail servers do support IMAP.
Thanks if you can provide any guidance with this.
Regards,
