hello y'all
I need some advise, or ideas rather.
Im building a simple webshop featuring a multicatagory catalog system,
administration area for add/edit/delete/newsletter and maybe some more stuff (i dont know yet)
Now im fairly new to MySql and im no PHP pro yet either.
Anyway, i got it this far, when you open the 'shop' it shows a single list of items (articlename/description/ordernumber/price)... where you can select howmany of em you want (with a dropdownmenu) which obviously is not catagorised. Then when done shopping click on a payment button and you see the 'shoppingcart' where you fill in the bill info (name adress and stuff) and select a payment method (wiretransfer or normal payment). Also you can alter the 'shoppingcart' with a same dropdownmenu to order more or less products, a button back to the 'shop'/list is included aswell and the shop remains stored in a cookie. Then when all forms are filled out you click order. and you get a confirmation email and the shopowner/manager gets a copy of that so that he knows someone ordered at his shop.
On the way to get working ive been working on a admin area at the same time... (you know; how to add a product well just create a page for that in the admin area and so on...)
I am able to add things into the database so that they show up in the list earlier described. But now the problems...
1) How to edit and delete them?
- I thought of an array thingy. But, when the list grows so does the array isnt that slow performing? But if the array is the best way how can i import the db the best and fastest way?
$edit_product = mysql_fetch_row($edit_producten);
echo "$edit_product";
Something like this? 😕
2) Also i need to build in a catagory system. What do you guys advise?
- Figured that the database must be expanded with one or more cells for the catagory?
- And a thing to add/edit(rename)/delete catagories in de admin area should be included i think?
Iraelly have no idea how to do this 🙁
3) There will be advertisements or promos (sales?) whats it called in english? how do i make it so that from the admin area i can point one or more articles to be on sale(?) ?
- Again i thought of adding a db cell in the table with a 1 for sale or 0 for normal pricing? would that work? and work efficient?
I think thats it for now 🙂
Maybe ill think up more headbreaking things later...
Anyway, if someone could contribute in giving me some answers that would be GREAT, and i mean really GREAT 😃 😃
