removing acentuation and white espaces

I have a script to upload files but when the files have acentuation or white space the files are not opened by the browser.

How do i remove any white space and acentuation???

Well, I'm not quite sure what you mean by acentuation, maybe I'm just stupid. But...as far as the white space goes...

$file_contents = str_replace(" ", "", $file_contents);

Something like that is how you get rid of spaces. You can take it from there.

accents may be the english word for : ~ ^´ ` eg. Á à

i would have to loop to see if any letter has any accent

The link to my uploaded files do not work when the file have white espace or accents, there is any function that let the links to be interpreted and opened?

How are you generating the URL the browser uses to request the file? Might [man]urlencode[/man] help, here?
