simple php general question...

right...i am making my own website with dreamweaverMX, i only know html

if i want to add php features...for example one of those review things where people enter their name and a comment on whatever they are looking at, then the page updates itself...is it possible to download a script and put it in a document? or do i need to learn .php in order to add to pages?

i already understand i need to save pages as .php which dreamweaver nicely does for me

you could probably find something over at www.pscode.com but why not take up php? something like what your after wouldnt be that difficult to build, and it would be another skill under your belt.

the best way i learned PHP is from just going through simple tutorials online so i had enough where i could make something. And then tackled someting difficult and made use of google.com and also this site for help and ways to do what i wanted to do. Also downloading various things and looking through the code helps out too.

A "teach yourself PHP in 20 days" type book would be a good place to start. The manual's good but might not be ideal for people who don't understand programming concepts or don't know another language. I know a few other languages so I picked up PHP in a day or so, it's pretty easy really, especially with the help of the rather helpful people on this site to answer the tricky questions! 🙂
