go back to db results page without running query again?

I have a search tool here at work that I'm writing that will search a db of support calls. My problem is that I have a basic design as follows....

1) search.php

.. submit goes to....

2) results.php

...click on a result to go to...

3) details.php

However, if I am in details.php and want to go back to the list of results on results.php, it attempts to run query again and makes me do a refresh.
Is there a way to cache this results page so when I click back from the details.php page, it doesn't run the query again?

I know this sounds silly, but why not just add a target="_blank" attribute to your results links, so the details just opens in a new window?

I have a very good reason why I haven't done that.....

..it's because I'm stupid, or burned out from a really long week at work. Thanks for the suggestion. I think that's the best possible solution.

LOL... Give yourself the latter reason. Don't be hard on yourself... If it's forcing a refresh, it sounds like you are posting the search results to the results page... You can avoid that by using the GET method instead, but that's up to you. If you do the POST method, however, it will always ask for the refresh. Oh, another way to avoid the refresh is to use sessions, but that can create new potential problems on subsequent queries...
