have can i display oldest to newest ?

currently im using this..

$q = "SELECT * FROM $tablename WHERE MONTH(thedate) = '{$_GET['month']}' AND YEAR(thedate) = '{$_GET['year']}' ORDER BY thedate DESC";

and its diplaying my info newest (at the top) and oldest (at the bottom)

how can i make display the opposite.... oldest at the top and newest at the bottom

Change DESC which mean descending to ASC which is ascending. You should probably read the mysql docs.
