phpmyadmin error

Hello All
I am using Windows 2000.
I have installed php and mysql on localhost.
I also have the phpmyadmin installed on a folder. When i tried to use the phpmyadmin, i get the following error.

"cannot load MySQL extension,
please check PHP Configuration.
Documentation"

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Uncomment extension=php_mysql.dll in your php.ini, then restart your web server.
