Download/open file

I am uploading file to my directory above www level. Is there a way to download that file or open it in a new window?

hey, i have a script that downloads .gif images, and midi ringtones, and i guess with a little editing it can work for you too. let me know,
i place my files outside of the www folder, in a folder called "downloads" and a script pulls the file from there and downloads.

let me know. and i can show you a demo or somthing. lol

Check the server globals... you will notice that there are varibles with the root..just cut the document root ans add the download folder...
