converting doc file to pdf ?

Hi,

Is there a way to convert .doc file to pdf file in php?. user upoloads doc file and we will give him the pdf file.

any idea please?

You can do the conversion under the control of PHP, but not entirely within PHP. Liberating data from Microsoft's proprietary format is not trivial.

Manage the overall process, including possibly uploads, with PHP.

Convert the DOC file to PostScript with the wvWare utilities.

Convert the PostScript to PDF with GhostScript.

GhostScript and wvWare are free and common on Unix platforms. There may be other ways to do it on a Windows platform, including commercial Adobe software.
