im just wondering if its possible to build a search engine spider using only php and mysql? i have heard many people say that php is to slow and that the searching will be very slow as well as spidering.... =(
PHP and MySQL should be able to do a fair job of it. Especially PHP 5 with the new Zend Engine II should make it quite a bit faster too.
