Completly Automated Site

Hi,

I am looking to automate my entire site. Is there some tutorial or something that can tell me how to make my homepage and other areas totally automated. I have seen people who all they have to do is type in an administrator panel and the site does the rest. I know its complex but I have plenty of time to learn it. Please help.
