smbauth on windows platform

Hi!

I use Smbauth to check the correctness of username/password with a NT Domain Controller.
I run it now in a unix environment.
I would like to run smbauth on a windows platform.

Experiences anybody?
Has anybody compiled smbauth with Cygwin?

Ummm....

Forgive my ignorance. But if you are using smbauth in conjunction with PHP in your *nix environment, and you want to move those webpages to a Windows box (assuming your using PHP for IIS), isn't using IIS security a great way to do the same thing?

I use smbauth to check if the users NT-username and password match...

I have to say that i dont know much about iis security. I submit username and password and get the information if they match. Then i process this information in my application.

I found a binary that seems to do just what i need: http://www.armcad.narod.ru/userserver.zip

OK, it took me a bit longer to test it but i finally found the time. What can i say, it works!!

I can recommend it to anybody who wants to check the correctness of username/password on a windows platform (just like smbauth does it for you with unix).
