show when results change (like a graphic or line)

Hi,

I'll try to explain this as best I can...and let me know if this can be done.

Lets say you are querying a database and you are ordering the results....like ORDER BY style ASC

So, lets say the query pulls in 10 results......half with the style of big and the other half with a style of small.

Is it possible to place sort sort of heading between the results?

Say, when the last reslt for big is displayed.....a line gets added....and below the line is the results for small.

I cant see how this can be done....unless I perform multiple query's. Any ideas?

Count the query results using mysql_num_rows(), and then use that info to set your conditions...

$countresults = mysql_num_rows($query);

for($i = 0; $i < $countresults; $i++){
    $gotit = mysql_fetch_row($query);

$divline = "<br />";
if($i == floor($countresults/2)) $divline = "<hr />";

echo $gotit['fieldname'].$divline;
}

Untested, but should work... or at a minimum, give you an idea of how to do it...

Getting a parse error...everytime I try to implement the code...
Parse error: parse error, unexpected ')', expecting ';' on this line

for($i = 0, $i < $numrows; $i++){

I'm sorry, it should be:

for($i = 0; $i < $numrows; $i++){

(Note the semi-colon after $i=0 instead of a comma... I will correct my original post)
