what am i doing wrong???

here's my php code:

echo ("<a href=# onClick=changePicture(\"". $picture[$i]["file_name"] ."\" , \" ". $picture[$i]["description"]."\")>pic $i</a> &nbsp\n");

which for example will print out:

<a href=# onClick=changePicture("media/picture/2-0.jpg" , this is a picture )>pic 0</a> &nbsp

without those nice backslashed quotations i expelicitlly wrote in. what's going on? my first pair of quotes work fine! grrrr..!

can you show us the content of
$picture[$i]["description"]

for example echo ':'.$picture[$i]["description"].':';

Maybe there is a hidden " in $picture somewhere

no quotes, just this:

echo ':'.$picture[$i]["description"].':';

:this is a picture:

this is killing me

i've reuploaded and changed little things, like spaces, no difference!! very very strange...

even when i put no variable and just text it still does not show the quotes
