Apache won't load

Hey guys,

It's not really a PHP question but i don't know where else to ask.
I installed Mepis linux wich is a Debian flavor =)

I installed mysql apache 1.3 and PHP5.
PHP compilled like a charm, but know apache is giving me headaches.

When i start apache from the init.d it states apache is started correctly.

But actually it isn't running. If i do ps -ef | grep apache
I can see only one process, where apache normally has 5 or 6 process.

When is do an apache stop it states there is no apache instance running since there is nog apache.pid file in /var/run

So bottemline my apache says it starts but realy doesn't.
An ow yeah, i checked the error.log file and it"s completly empty!!!!

Ok, i found the problem myself. PHP 4.3 was loading too. So Apache sort of crashed when it had to load 2 PHP modules. I removed the load sentence in the modules.conf for PHP4 and apache is running smoother then ever 🙂

Im' going to check out PHP5 now!!
