[Resolved] Comparing Multiple variables

I am creating a rental site and am trying to figure out how to compare 7 different variables(dollar values) to find the high and the low. is there a way to do this besides writing a huge if() section of code? Example:

I have 7 variables that represent the different rates for differnet seasons and lenghts.
$summernight
$summerweek
$holidaynight
$holidayweek
$winternight
$winterweek
$monthly

if all seven of them contain different numerical values is there an easy way i can find the highest and lowest?
I haven't even tried to write this code yet because all I can think to do is use areally long if() code.
If there is a better way PLEASE TELL ME.

    $rates[$cur_var] = $$cur_var;

Now it's just a little array manipulation to get you the minimum and maximum values.

well, you could just try the min and max functions....but they wouldn't let you know which variable is highest or lowest, just the value.

for example, you could try:

max($summernight, $summerweek, $holidaynight, $holidayweek, $winternight, $winterweek, $monthly);

for the max, and

min($summernight, $summerweek, $holidaynight, $holidayweek, $winternight, $winterweek, $monthly);

That will work just fine, I don't need to know wich one is which i just need to be able to display a range of rates on a search result.
