[Resolved] apache not working when online

Does anyone know why mysql and apache local servers stop working as soon as I go online - and then return when I go offline?

sadly I'm still using dialup 🙁

It means when I come to the forum to find solutions I have to then hang up my connection in order to test these where I'm working offline.

Are you using Windows?

Never saw that behaviour on Linux or BSDs. Maybe there is an IPsec (is this the proper term?) that si firewalling your servers even from yourself as localhost. Or maybe it is even stopping them.

Ah! It's good old Norton! I must have told it to block my ip at some point - without realising.
