setting custom server variables

Hi,

I want to know how to set a custom server variable. For example, a variable called $HTTP_MYVAR.

What I want to do is use a server var as a communication method between two programs.

You cant, well thats untrue you can however it will only remain available until the end of the scripts execution. Once the script has finished executing the variable wont exist.

You should probably look into sessions if you wish to keep data going from one page to the next.
