URL's without /'s

Sorry, really struggled thinking of a good subject for this post, let me explain.

I've installed apache on my linux box. Yet lets say i type in the link:

http://www.mysite.com/news/test/

it will load up the index file in the test dir. Yet if the link is:

http://www.mysite.com/news/test (i.e. without the end /)

it will come back page cannot be found, or forbidden - I can't remember which and i'm not at that PC right now. Either way, which part of http.conf file do i edit for it not to need the end / typed manully..or is it not this conf file at all?

Hi,

either set UseCanonicalName to off in httpd.conf or use an appropriate Rewrite rule like

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^{(.+[^/])$} $1/ [R]
