this is not a php question but one for apache.
maybe someone can help me with this too. 😉

i need a simple redirect/rewrite rule for my webpage.

i want that all the urls start with the "www." at the beginning.

so, when anyone types:

http://embege.com/whatever/

then, it should be automatically be redirected to:

http://www.embege.com/whatever/

Maybe someone in an Apache forum might know? Tried searching through any of those? Tried looking in the Apache documentation? yelvington's given you a link that takes you to the documentation (in fact, I understand the Apache webserver comes bundled with documentation). On the same page is http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/en/mod/core.html#serveralias; and just one link away from that is http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/en/vhosts/name-based.html
