Weird PHP error

PHP5
Mysql4
Apache2

I have installed many many times.
I have Apache2 and runs no problem.
Installed PHP here:
C:\Program Files\Apache2\php

yet when I do phpinfo
it shows as :
Configuration File (php.ini) Path C:\WINDOWS

I checked that path there is no ini there.
Any suggestions?

earlier (yesterday) it showed as
Configuration File (php.ini) Path C:\Program Files\Apache2\php

It just changed.
I have searched Google and RTFMed but no luck finding the solution.

I also have the seperate issue that I could never connect to MySQL but I guess I need to resolve this first.

Any suggestions?

Take say, php.ini-dist or php.ini-recommended from your php directory, rename it to php.ini and place it accordingly.
