PHP and Apache

Hi,

I'm using mod_vhost alias and I can't set open_basedir.

Is there a possibility, that I can set "php_admin_value open_basedir /usr/homepages/$user/"?

I found out, that I can set open_basedir to the path, in which the script is being executed:

php_admin_value open_basedir ":"

But how can I set it, that open_basedir is the same path, like the Serveroot of the apache webserver?

Sorry for my bad English.

Or is there a other solution, that hosted users can't go out of there root directories? Safe_mode is no problem, but open_basedir 🙁
