I am working on a bookmark server. People can store their bookmarks and view them from any computer over the web. The additional functionality is that people can show their bookmarks to other users.
What I want is that as soon as a new bookmark is registered a screendump is made from the URL and stored as a thumbnail jpeg, or gif, on the server.
I've been searching the image manual for hours but did not find any solution for actually creating an image from the html code of a particular website. I know it can be done because I've seen it happen. Unfortunately I lost the link to that website.
So if there is anyone out there who has any clue on how to tackle this, I would be extremely happy
