Session not being destroyed when I close the browser

I have built a few sample pages which use sessions, and I have noticed something strange.

When I open the page in firefox the session is started and when I close and start another firefox session and goto the same page the session has been destroyed

However

When I do the same thing in internet explorer even after I have closed every single window and start a new ie session I can still go back to the page.

Is there a way around this?

session_unset() and session_destroy() can be used together to really close a session.

However, when someone just closes the browser, this is not automatically done. Maybe you need to take a look at events to place in your <BODY> tag that will load a php function that executes the two commands when the browser window is closed (ie the oposit of OnLoad())
