HTML SELECT box not returning correctly

Hi there,
I've got a SELECT box with a size of 6 - it's returning from 01, 02, etc not 1, 2... therefore I need some way of removing the first zero, either in PHP or if it is an option, in HTML.

I've no clue, except from using str and several others bits to remove the 0, though this seems rather long-winded and I can only assume that there is a better way... ie.

Instead of:

01

I need:

1

Thanks for that but unfortunately it doesn't work. It seems to take 01 to 0 rather than 1. Also, I didn't mention this, but the numbers will go into and above 20.
