Calling all PHP advocates, help!! :D

This fellow thinks that PHP should be something else. I have at least two problems answering him:

1. I'm not experienced enough in a variety of languages (e.g., not computer scientist enough) to enough discuss this issue sensibly.

2. I'm taking a vacation (see ya next week!)

If you can talk about the virtues of PHP being an "on the fly" interpreted language, etc., you might help win a convert 😃

Yeah...I didn't even read this until after I wrote my reply to his thread. He basically pointed to the solution and said he couldn't figure it out. Course...I don't see how this is any better than using stored procedures or caching queried result sets (my personal preference). shrug
