So, Apache serves up fine. And PHP parses fine. When I try to introduce MySQL into the mix I get some problems. I've searched on the net about this sort of setup and completed all steps that I've found. I have the extensions (.dlls) in the correct directory specified in php.ini. I've rebooted the machine several times now. I have php.ini looking at C:\PHP\extensions\ for the dlls. The dlls are in the directory.
Apache starts fine, but once I uncomment the php_mysql.dll addition and try to access a php page, on the server I get a dialog box that says the php_mysql.dll could not be found in direcotry C:\PHP\extensions.
Other people I've talked to have the same setup, only no XP SP2. And thier setup works perfectly. I've wiped Apache, MySQL and PHP and reinstalled them. Came to the same problem. Currently my .dlls are in 3 spots. /php/extensions, /windows/system32 and /windows.
Does anyone know if SP2 breaks Apache or MySql or PHP5? I can't find anyhere on the net that says anything about it.
