Form and Database query

Hi,
Bear with me still new and believe im doing the impossible. I have set up a database and an admin page to edit the data base, which works fine. I am modelling an estate agent page and want to set up a "find property page". On this page I want to set a multiple search by
Number of bedrooms(drop down menu of more than>1beds, 2beds,3beds etc.
Price (which will have a drop down menu of minimum value and another with maximum value)

I am having problems setting the form......I Know the "action" will send me to another page where the result will be delivered.

My database is called "houses" and has a table called "sale", this table has 6 fields as follows
id
address
bedrooms
price
description
image

I have come to a brick wall working out the code for searching between a minimum and higher value, ie the price and setting the form to work properly.......and getting the whole thing to work out. Has anyone done anything similar.............even the book I was working from to work out the code does not have the codes to download, although it says it does in the book (DREAMWEAVER MX: PHP web development.....by glasshaus publishers) So I am tired of handballing the code in everytime. I am very new to PHP and have come far.........believe me but I have been on this problem for nearly a full week..........my girlfriend walked out and my eating habits have now ended up eating pot noodles and junk food........oh! and my teeth are starting to fall out. I need to pull my life back together but cant move forward until I sort this out.

Any advice, directions, code or counselling would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the
BETWEEN ... AND syntax

In other words your query should be something similiar to :

SELECT stuff FROM your_table WHERE price BETWEEN '100000' AND '250000'

P.S. Throw the book away and use the PHP and MySQL sites ;-) And get a life!! ;-)

I'm not an expert or anything, but you could do something like this:

<select name="price">
<option value="100000-200000">$100,000-$200,000</option>
</select>

Then after posting form:
if (isset($POST['price'])) {
$vals = explode($POST['price'], '-'); // separates the values using the -
$minprice = $vals[0];

$maxprice = $vals[1];
}

SQL statement
Select your_fields from your_table where price between $minprice and $maxprice
