Adding/Updating PINE addressbook using PHP

Hey,

I have a website where people can register with their email addresses etc, and since we already use PINE to send emails to our members, I was wondering whether there's a way for the members who register in the website to automatically add their email addresses to PINE's address book. This in short means I'm thinking of a PHP script that can add/edit/delete email addresses found in the .addressbook file of PINE.
