Unlinking loop to remove images

Hi,

What is the best way of looping through a directory via php so I can delete (unlink) all files with a .jpg or .gif file type.

My script allows me to upload .jpg or .gif without any trouble, but I need a "clean up" method of getting rid of them when they aren't needed. I need to specifically target just .jpg or .gif files because they'll be some .zip files in the directory I won't want removing.

Any ideas?

What have you got so far? What you describe sounds pretty close: loop through all the files in the directory; for each file, if it has a .jpg or .gif extension (I'm presuming you're ensuring that these are the extensions they're saved with), unlink it.

foreach(file in the directory)
{
if the file has a .jpg or .gif extension
unlink it.
}
